Our Children Matter

We, at Blyth Community Church, are committed to providing a safe environment in which our children and young people can grow in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We recognise that each child or young person is an individual with much to give as well as to receive. As a church we promise to nurture them in worship, in learning, in growth and in faith, helping them to be a valued member of our Christian family. We will listen to our children and young people and treat their wishes and feelings with respect.

We acknowledge that our work with children and young people is the responsibility of the whole church; to protect them and prevent any physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect.

Why am I so sinful
Why am I so proud
Why instead of sunshine
Is my peace blocked by a cloud?

A cloud so black and heavy
It's a burden to my soul.
Instead of a heart that's full of joy
There remains an enormous hole.

A hole that only Christ can fill
Not the pleasures of this world,
He redeemed me with His precious blood
Not with silver or pure gold.

If only I would turn away
From the things I know to be wrong,
And enter int His presence
Praising Him with song.

A song full of thanksgiving
For the price He paid for me,
That removed my chains and saved my soul
From a life of slavery.

A life that is so selfish
and deserving only of death,
Thank God He suffered on that cross
And cried "It is finished" before His last breath.

He came to earth to show His love
So to us He may impart,
A life that's full of spiritual fruit
Not a hole within my heart.

Trusting Jesus

When the Cares of this world are getting you down,
you must try to smile and not to frown.
Jesus cares for you and always will,
just rest in His presence and try to be still.
He promised to keep you till the end,
so trust in Him, He's your greatest friend.

At The Dawn

Let our first thought be of Jesus
At the dawn of each new day;
For we dare not tread without Him
In an unknown, untried way.

Clear He sees what lies before us,
Well He knows each coming hour.
Let our first thought be of Jesus -
Of His love, His will, His power.
